Phil Hellmuth

Phil HellmuthPhil Hellmuth Jr. or better „Poker Brat” was born on 16 July 1964 in Madison , Wisconsin U.S.A. He was a student at University of Wisconsin for 3 years until he discovered his vocation for poker and quit the university to play poker full time.

He is well-known for his records – 11 World Series Of Poker bracelets, the most entrances in cash in the WSOP circuit (68) and the most final tables played (41), recently got ahead to T.J. Cloutier.

In 1989 at 24 years old Hellmuth become the most young winner to a Main Event at World Series Of Poker. Since today any other player of 24 years or younger succeeded to make this performance to win a Main Event at WSOP.

In 2006 he had 10 bracelets won only at WSOP equal in performances with the legendary poker player Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan. The difference was that Helmuth won all his bracelets at Texas Hold`em unlike Doyle and Chan.

Year 2007 brings to Phil a new record after winning another bracelet at WSOP, becoming the player with the most bracelets won at World Series of Poker. Along the time only in this tournament Helmuth won $5.859.080. Now Helmuth won from poker over $10.600.000 placing him in the WSOP All Time Money List on the 3rd position after Jamie Gold and Joe Hachem.

In present Phil Helmuth is living in Palo Alto California with his wife and two and kids.
