Phil Ivey

Phil IveyPhil Ivey started to play in 1990, sneaking in to casinos using fake ID. His name as player was “No home Jerome”. Because he was always playing poker in casinos and at tournaments he never got time to go home.

Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, California and he grown up in New Jersey. His professional poker player career started in Atlantic City. At only 23 years old , he wins the first World Series Championship, beating experienced poker players like Phil Hellmuth and Amarillo Slim. Nowadays Phil Ivey is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker, together with some other players like Annette Obrestad, Gus Hansen and Chris Ferguson.

His decision to build a poker career and live his life from poker started taking off when he was a teen-ager, when other children where dreaming to become astronauts. Although he meet lots of impediments because of gambling, Phil Ivey continued to believe in his dream – the dream to become an international poker player with a high reputation.

His efforts where rewarded in the end and Phil has 5 bracelets of World Series Of Poker before he was 30 years old.
