European Poker Tour - EPT

European Poker Tour (EPT)Started in 2004 with 7 No Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments, broadcast on television, European Poker Tour has become the most popular poker tournament in Europe. European Poker Tour ( EPT ) now rivals with the biggest tournaments in United States of America and it attracts big players from around the world.

The first event of EPT was in Barcelona and the Buy-in was €1000, had 211 players and a total pot of €229,000. The 3rd season had a Buy-in of €10,000 and attracted over 700 players creating a prize pool of €6,600,000. This was the largest and richest poker tournament organized outside of Las Vegas.

The main event of EPT is No Limit Texas Hold’em, with €10,000 Buy-in. The winner of this event is named EPT Champion. European Poker Tour is sponsored by PokerStars.com.

EPT announced that this year event from August 2009 EPT Russian Open, will no longer take place in Moscow, it will be moved to Kiev, Ukraine and it was renamed EPT KIEV SPORTS POKER CHAMPIONSHIP. This movement was necessary because of the Russian poker law that was changed.

The EPT Kiev from 18-23 August 2009 is organized with the help of Ukrainian Poker Federation. This event will have a buy in of €5,000 (€4,700+300).

The players who qualified online at PokerStars and won a ticked to this event in Moscow will be rescheduled for Kiev for the new EPT event. We wish good luck to all players that will participate at this mega event and PLAY WITH RESPONSIBILITY!
