Professional Poker Tour - PPT

Professional Poker Tour (PPT)The Professional Poker Tour (PPT) is part of the WPT Enterprises, that also handle the World Poker Tour tournaments.

Professional Poker Tour started first on 9th November 2005 and it took place at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino. The first Professional Poker Tour champion was John Juanda, a very talented poker player.

The Professional Poker Tour is made of a series of freeroll tournaments, as we all know the money to freeroll tournament comes from sponsors and not from the players buy-ins. The difference between World Poker Tour and Professional Poker Tour is that any player can register in the World Poker Tour circuit and in the Professional Poker Tour only players who have win satellites freeroll can register and play.

The best thing about Professional Poker Tour is that the players don’t have to put up their own money. In each event approximately 200 players are invited to play and each event is a $500,000 freeroll.

The presentation of the World Poker Tour is different from the Professional Poker Tour. In the poker room the camera crews are permanently during all stages of play. When one player goes all-in the dealer holds up the game until the crew arrives at the table.

The Professional Poker Tour Tournaments takes place at Foxwoods Casino, in Mashantucket, Connecticut, during November, Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada, during December, Horseshoe Casino & Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, during January, Commerce Casino in Commerce, California, during February, and the Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada, during May.
