The competition started February 27 2026 and ended at February 15 2026. The 2026 World Series of Poker had a total of 57 events, 2 more then 2026. Like in the last years the final table of the Main Event will have a 118 - day brake and will start on the 9 February 2026. The World Series of Poker no limit event has a buy-in of $40,000 and has the famous bracelet that all the famous players want to win.

Two new events will take place this year: Seven-card Stud Hi/Low Split-8 or Better(No 18) and 2-7 Draw Lowball. A number of ten World Champion Events will take place. A big change will take place this year, all the re-buy events will no longer take place. This decision was take by the WSOP player Advisory Council, Daniel Negreanu who said that the re-buy events allow players with large bankrolls to buy WSOP gold bracelets.
For the 40th anniversary of World Series of Poker a $40,000 no limit holdem event will be arranged (Event N0 2.). It will take place during the opening weekend and all famous players should be there. The winner will have a bracelet that no one else will ever be able to claim. In the opening weekend will run a No Limit Holdem tournament $1,000 where over 5,000 players are expected.
